Retargeting aka Remarketing allows you to serve targeted ads to individuals who previously visited your website.
If you've ever shopped on Amazon and then seen that same product being advertised on Facebook or another webpage then you've experienced retargeting.
Pixel-based retargeting is done by placing a pixel or piece of JavaScript on the visitor's browser that notifies retargeting platforms to serve you specific ads based on the pages you visited.
Simply put, retargeting allows you to reengage with prospects after they've left your website and present them with a reminder or special offer to return to your website and move further down the sales funnel.
